Ultra-fine grain

BERGGER SUPERFINE

A rich rendering of subtle nuances

We have developed the BERGGER Superfine developer to achieve both ultra-fine grain and an amazing modelling effect, full of subtle nuances.

BERGGER Superfine works deep in the emulsion, perfectly develops highlights without burning them, and gives extremely detailed shadows. Overall, this developer lowers sensitivity by one stop, and is well suited to all films rated between ISO 25 and 200.

To ensure that BERGGER Superfine developer works perfectly, the film must be overexposed at shooting.

SUPERFINE + Pancro400

XXL dynamic range

During a trip to Armenia, photographer Aurélien Le Duc faced a situation of very strong light with high contrast. During the shooting, he chose to overexpose the BERGGER Pancro400 film aiming to process it in BERGGER Superfine. It is interesting to note how the highlights are detailed, with still many shades of very light grey, while the shadows are full of informations.

SUPERFINE + Delta 100

Ultra-fine grain

For a project in the forest for which the photographs were to be enlarged to a very large format, photographer Olivier Marchesi needed to obtain negatives with the smallest grain as possible. He selected Ilford Delta 100 film and BERGGER Superfine developer to obtain extremely fine grain.

SUPERFINE + Foma 100

Summer and its bright lights can produce images with very harsh contrasts that are not always very flattering for the places shot during holiday. To bring a little softness to these high contrast situations, an interesting combination is formed by processing Foma 100 film in BERGGER Superfine. The highlights are filled with nuances while the shadows remain detailed.

SUPERFINE + Ortho 80+

Ilford Ortho 80+ film has very high contrast and no red sensitivity. It can be difficult to use it in complex lighting conditions. Developing Ortho 80+ film with BERGGER Superfine developer is a solution to use this film in a variety of light conditions.

SUPERFINE and 35mm film

The special case of the Delta400

BERGGER Superfine developer is perfectly suited to the development of 35mm film. According to our laboratory tests, Delta400 film can be exposed at its nominal sensitivity of 400iso and processed in BERGGER Superfine with exceptional results in terms of grey shades and grain size.
